If every tool call comes back saying permission was denied, stop here. That is not a broken install. Your project has not been approved for Developer Preview yet, and nothing else will work until it is.

Checking this yourself

The admin screen checks it for you now. Open Clients and any OAuth client whose project does not match the one your hub runs in gets a highlighted box naming both project numbers.
The Clients screen, with a highlighted warning box naming the OAuth client's project number and the hub's own project number, which do not match
This is a warning, not an error, so it never blocks adding the account or the client. Having a client in a different project is normal for the second-project case in Developer Preview. It only means something if that second project was never registered: check the two numbers the box gives you against what you applied with. If you did not mean to use two projects at all, and the client simply came from the wrong one, replacing it is the fix rather than registering it. See connecting an account with the wrong OAuth client. If the second project is deliberate, press This is what I meant on the warning and it stops coming back for that client. Claude can do this too. Ask it to move an account onto a different client and it will do the swap and give you the sign-in link. No need to open the admin screen. The sign-in itself is still yours to do.

Diagnostics

The admin screen can check the hub over and tell you what it finds. Open Diagnostics. Each item says what it found, the actual values it read to decide, and what to do about it. Some items have a button, because the hub can try that one itself: fetching the tool list from Google again, rebuilding the list of tools it offers, reloading the addresses an account can send from. Pressing one runs the check again straight away, so the page shows the result rather than telling you to look again. Claude can do this too. Ask it to check the hub and it will read the same report and, where the hub can fix something itself, offer to run it. That covers only the hub checking its own state: it never touches your mail, calendar or files.
